Augie's Wishes
if i were to be presumptive of the things that augie would wish for his friends, here are a few of them:
1. he would have wanted us to smile everytime we remembered him and if we shed a tear, it would be a joyful tear, for knowing him when he lived
2. he would have asked for us to continue living for tomorrow and not dwell on the past
3. he would have told us not to grieve for him anymore and wish for him to come back but to continue living and celebrating the memories he left behind
he will be in our thoughts always... with that mona lisa smile forever on his face

thanks bok for reminding us that augie was once a part of our lives (and i believe he still is). i remember it was joe parreño's mom who told me about the sad news that one of our high school classmates died in an accident. i was in bacolod for a month's vacation at that time and i came to their house for a visit. she was not so sure who it was when she told me about the news but she mentioned that it was totong's close friend. i knew for a fact that augie was totong's closest friend in high school but still several names actually came to my mind. i believe that he lived a wonderful and meaningful life when he was still alive. he was everyone's best friend, brother, son.
were you working abroad na when he passed on? you weren't there sa wedding ni totong and those were the last moments i saw him alive... less than a year later, wala na sya
